Existing Websites
As well as designing and developing new websites, we can also review your current site to assess whether it is really doing everything for you that it should be. Consider the following questions:
- Are visitors searching for your type of information, product or service able to find you through search engines? If you aren't achieving a high ranking, your site may as well not be there. We can help you to ensure that it gets the visitors you deserve.
- Do your pages download quickly or does your site have lots of large pictures that slow your download time and are highly likely to make your visitors leave before the first page has finished downloading? We can optimise your site to download quickly and efficiently, but still retain the look and feel you want.
- In October 2004 Part III of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1995 comes into force. Part of this act is aimed at the provision of services on the internet and requires that every effort is made to ensure that your website is available to all who may want to visit. Steps need to be taken to ensure that your website can be read by the specialised software that enables disabled users to access the same services as everyone else.
- Still on the subject of accessibility, users will quite often have certain capabilities in their browsers switched off, either by choice or, as perhaps as part of a company policy. Can your site still function if this is the case? Also, the way that different types of browsers interpret and display web pages can have disastrous effects on the layout of your site. When your site was developed - was it thoroughly tested in all the browsers likely to access it?
If you are unsure about any of these points, or simply feel that your website could do with a facelift, give us a call or drop an email.
