- We can take those bulky, difficult to maintain paper based procedure or systems manuals and make them into accessible online documents available on a single computer, through an intranet or on the internet. The advantages of managing large documents online are many. Updates are easily made and issued making version control a breeze even in a large company with branches flung far and wide. This means that your users are searching for and accessing information that is totally up to date and consistent.
- If you have your own software developers, but no authoring skills available, we can write help systems and user guides for you. It is well known that the developers of software are frequently not the right people to actually produce the documentation for the users, since the disciplines of software development and technical writing are very different.
We can develop online documentation, printed documentation and help systems in the following formats:
- Windows and HTML Help systems - context sensitive information available to the user providing feedback focused upon the function they are using. These systems also include keyword indexes and full text search functionality and can have how-to areas and step by step guides if required.
- XHTML or HTML - read through your usual browser technology making them platform independent.
- Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) - documents for on screen reading or printing. Documents are read only and easy to exchange and access electronically. The Adobe Acrobat Reader includes a search, index and bookmark facility.
- Microsoft Word - if you prefer, printable documents can be produced in this format. We can also produce templates that can be used for your own in-house use to ensure a consistent look to the document.
