How We Charge For Our Work
Since every project differs so widely, we have found it preferable for both sides not to tie either our customers or ourselves to fixed cost work. All websites, software applications and documents vary in style, content and complexity. Working with exact requirements, we can provide you with an estimate of how long the work will take and how much it will cost.
Rather than offering set 'packages' where you may well end up paying for functionality that you do not use, or fixed quotes that necessarily include some allowance for underestimation of time taken on our part, we have found it much more beneficial for both sides to work on hourly rates which are typically between £20 to £40 an hour depending on the type of work. We will always give the closest possible estimate of time against the specification provided and any variance in the actual time taken will always be discussed fully with you well before the event. We promise not to present you with a bill that you weren't expecting!
Naturally, you may have a very clear specification and prefer to work on a fixed price, in which case we will happily come to an arrangement with you.
We normally ask for a percentage of the estimated total for a project prior to commencing the work, with the rest paid on delivery. If a project is estimated to take more than a month, we will arrange a set of stage payments with you. Consultancy work is always billed after the work is completed.
